Challenges Forum Report 2025
The Challenges Forum and the Kofi Annan International Peacekeeping Training Centre have launched the full report from the Challenges Annual Forum 2025 (CAF25), Adapt and Advance: Renewing the Impact of Peace Operations.

Hosted in Accra on 14–15 October, CAF25 convened more than 170 partners and stakeholders from over 30 countries, including representatives from the United Nations, regional organizations, Member States, academia, and civil society. Together, participants examined how peace operations must evolve to remain credible, effective, and politically relevant in an increasingly complex global environment.
The report captures the forum’s main insights and recommendations, emphasizing the need to place peacemaking and political solutions at the centre of UN engagement, strengthen partnerships with regional actors, adopt more flexible and context-driven mission models, responsibly leverage new technologies, and better integrate climate-security risks into peacebuilding efforts.
By bringing these perspectives together, the CAF25 report offers practical guidance to help renew the impact of peace operations and support more adaptive, accountable, and people-centred responses to today’s conflicts.
