Key Takeaways CAF23
On 26-27 October 2023, the Challenges Annual Forum (CAF23) convened more than 130 partners and key stakeholders in Addis Ababa, Ethiopia, to engage in a forward-thinking dialogue on the future of peace operations, particularly focusing on the AU-UN peace and security partnership. This year’s forum, echoing the theme “Towards Stronger Global-Regional Peace & Security Partnerships,” was co-hosted by the Training for Peace Programme.
The discussions centered on strategic coherence, predictable financing, and addressing capability gaps in peace operations against the backdrop of increased global polarization. These critical deliberations have led to a set of concrete key takeaways, setting a path for deeper, more effective collaborations in peace operations.
